I’m still futzing around with this site. Dwight has more experience with WordPress than I do, but we’re both trying to figure out how to do some modifications I want and such. I set up a Feedburner account, recorded a preliminary test show and posted that so that there would be something for iTunes to verify, got the show submitted and approved to iTunes (subscribe here please–even if you don’t listen it will help my numbers)
, made a podcast logo which I am also using for my LiveJournal, got some Google Analytics set up in case in my dreams I ever try to make money from the site, yada yada.
I’m having some problems, actually a lot of problems, getting widgets I downloaded to work. I don’t know where to put them in the folder to get them to show up in the widget list and all information I can find refers to older versions of WordPress. Meh. I’ll have to do more research. Having shows hosted on Libsyn, for all its limitations, was a hell of a lot easier.
What else do I need before Saturday’s podcast kickoff? Not sure. Maybe I should put the show in a lot of podcast directories, but I’d rather have at least 10 shows up before I do that. Same with promos. I do need to get the feed to Shawno from Hyper Nonsense
so he can add it to the NaPodPoMo
group feed.
Oh yeah, I need to get an intro and outro recorded. I recorded the pre-show with the H2 portable recorder upstairs in my bedroom, but I still need to find all my cables and hook up my mixer so I can use the GOOD mic. And I really should record with the laptop, because where my iMac is located now is not acoustically ideal.
The mirrored picture of Maia and me up at the top may or may not stay but it’s making me laugh right now.
