I came. I saw. I ate vegan when everyone else was not. I’m still hungry, but I’ll survive. I forgot to bring the humus, and nobody but me ate the other vegan food I brought. And I felt a too noticed by people wanting to know about my diet plan because I’ve lost a lot of weight and I’m embarrassed, but I’ll survive (If only it were possible to be invisible.). I tried to call my mom to wish her a happy Thanksgiving, but she wasn’t home and she won’t call me back I’m sure. And it’s a boring, noisy, windy show. I suggest you skip it. I try to do better tomorrow.
And now I’m eating too many peanuts and Trader Joes peppermint Joe Joes. Alas. So much for eating Bernard-healthy. I’ll be paying for this later on with high blood sugar readings. I’m a little verklempt.

How come you need to make pumpkin pie with vegan meat? All you need is pumpkins, right?
Actually, a regular pumpkin pie is an egg custard pie with pumpkin as the liquid. Since I’m a vegan, I don’t eat egg and dairy, so the body needs to be made of something–in this case, a smooth blended tofu works for the pudding and binds it quite well. But it doesn’t taste the same. Egg has a definite flavor whereas tofu has very little. It’s not bad, but if you are expecting it to taste the same you’ll be disappointed.
