A friend on LiveJournal said that Israel is practicing aparthaid whereas Hamas is practicing insurgency.
But I do know that Israel’s attack on the people of Gaza is like shooting fish in a barrel. The people have nowhere to go, no way to protect themselves, and the innocent are dying. And Arabs see images like these and hatred for Israel grows. Will this ever end?
I read a book awhile back that made me a lot more sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians. That doesn’t mean that I think the tactics of Hamas and other terrorist groups are right. But Israel’s tactics aren’t good, either. It’d be nice if both sides could figure out some way to coexist. But sometimes, it seems like the only way to “solve” this problem is for one of the sides to simply obliterate the other. I hope it doesn’t come down to that.
