This type of market is extremely pricey–much pricier than even Whole Foods–but it’s all locally grown and supports the farmers who would otherwise have to abandon their farms. Next year though, since I know about it ahead of time and will be able to do it, I am going to get membership to a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscription so I’ll be sure to have fresh produce for the entire growing season and will save some dough.

Now I am making a root vegetable soup with some tomatoes and kale added, also leftover rice and red beans, and it smells heavenly.
